Gabion mesh is divided into 2 kinds WOVEN GABION and WELDED GABION.
Gabion Baskets are one kind of Hexagonal Wire Mesh Cage, Update products from Hexagonal Wire Mesh. It is galvanized steel, double twisted, woven wire mesh filled with stone and used for various applications including, but not limited to, retaining walls, slope paving, outfall structures, weirs, drop structures, and stream bank protection.
The gabion baskets are constructed using either 8×10 double twisted hexagonal woven steel wire mesh or welded wire mesh, adhering to the ASTM A975-97 Gabions standard. The steel wire utilized in crafting these gabions is of soft temper and is heavily coated with Galfan, a zinc-5% aluminum-mischmetal [Zn-5 Al-MM] alloy.
The gabion mesh is composed of hexagonal wire netting, with wire diameters differing according to the hexagonal nettings. Wire diameter for hexagonal wire netting without PVC coating falls within the range of 2.0 mm to 4.0 mm. In the case of PVC-coated hexagonal wire netting, the outer diameter varies from 3.0 mm to 4.0 mm. The wire employed for the outer frame edge is one wire gauge thicker than that used for the hexagonal wire netting.
